Global Network Recruiting (GNR) was founded in 2000, by Kurt Phelps and Mike DeLaney; two engineers by trade with extensive backgrounds in their areas of expertise. Both Kurt and Mike had the passion and drive to make themselves successful in their earlier careers, which transcended the desire to make others as equally successful. In the second phase of their careers, both became recruiters bridging the gap between matching companies to untapped talent. They saw first-hand the degree to which recruiters' time was sapped by administrative tasks when it would be better to devote time to speaking with candidates. Kurt and Mike entered the paramount stage of their careers and created their own team approach to recruiting and the results have been impressive.
GNR's experience in the recruiting industry runs deep, including a decade of solid client and candidate relationships. This could have not been accomplished if it was not for the partnership created which is the Leadership behind GNR's success.
Meet our Leadership
Kurt gives GNR its unique structure. From the beginning Kurt capitalized on striving for a successful future by going to one of the most renowned Engineering Universities in the Country, followed by being recruited by a prestigious engineering company. It did not take long before Kurt realized that his "Passion" in life was to help others succeed and he made a dramatic change to his career path. Kurt joined a recruiting firm where he worked alongside, his partner, Mike DeLaney. After a year and a half he decided to open up his own recruiting firm, specializing in all technical fields. Now 15 years later, Kurt has taken what he has learned and turned GNR into what the Company is today; one of the most successful Hi-Tech recruiting firms in the US.
Kurt has divided the recruitment process into three distinct areas that allows GNR to deliver amazing customer engagement, while managing the process from assignment to candidate preparation and presentation to the final offer stage.
He also found a need to separate the duties of a recruiter into-- just that "recruiting"; rather than the addition of traditional administrative responsibilities. This kind of innovative thinking has streamlined the recruiting process and allows for more calls into our clients' competitors to find parallel talent, while at the same time expanding GNR's candidate database for future needs.
Kurt does not just put a process in place and then "throw it over the fence"; he monitors and improves processes when necessary for the benefit of our clients and candidates. Our candidates and clients demand only the best, why should he delivery anything less?
Mike brings an entrepreneur spirit, along with an extraordinary level of customer service to GNR. As a degreed engineer, he delivers intangible, first hand knowledge of industries "Best Practices" and technologies. With over 17 years of recruiting experience, he has a proven history of success; which is demonstrated in two distinct ways.
First, GNR's success has been driven by Mike's ability to consult our clients on stratgeic hiring solutions and market trends to deliver critical/key hires.
Second, he also is a pivotal part of GNR's Account Management Team, for which he mentors team members on the newest and most innovative ways to gather details of any assignment and build lasting partnerships with our clients.
Based on his engineering/manufacturing experience, coupled with his operational expertise and wisdom, Mike developed a recruiting team that brings a degree of expertise and professionalism previously unseen in the recruiting industry.
Mike is not just someone who delivers qualified individuals; he's someone who invests in himself by staying in touch with his "Desire" to maintain a holistic lifestyle. He has the energy and vitality to meet the unexpected challenges of the recruiting industry and operating a business.
